Final adjustment was to remove 5 wellnut screws and replace it with a Cee Bailey. Works great now!

I ended up with top of the 13" shield 8" above the top of the radio eyebrow. Shield is spaced approx 2" from the base plate at the top, and on a 58* angle. I had been at 55*, 3* does make a difference.
Too bad i quit smoking, cuz now i could easily smoke behind the shield anywhere between 60 and 80 mph.

I found mine has the dog dish thingy on the upper forks under the fairing, does anybody else have that with their madstad?
I also have the sancho wings and the deflectors
I am thinking the dog dish thing is causing more problems than its worth
I had to move my 16 inch madstad up where i look thru it to get the wind managable
It is at 57 degrees

Don't have a Madstad (yet) and just watching this thread but regarding dog-dish style air dam, I think you're right.
It was OE on batwing types and directs some air-flow downward. For sharks, HD introduced the engine-guard type flaps to instead redirect some air upward behind our fixed fairing.

13" MadStad. Mounted it and adjusted it so I was looking over it (top about level with my teeth) and it worked great. I think I can probably go lower and be fine. I really can't believe how well this thing works.

My '09 came with the half moon air deflector only. I'm running a 13" MadStad at about mouth level, 1.75" gap at bottom, 56-57 degree angle, with the half moon deflector...amazed every time I ride the bike, how awesome this shield works. I'm 5,8" by the way.
