I have this on the saddlebag guard. It was actually cheaper than the aftermarket ones, which was a surprise.

I had a half helmet jacked in a motel parking lot in Morro Bay, Ca.
I was an idiot and forgot to take it into the room overnight.
I gotta think there is some bad ju ju associated with riding in a stolen lid.
I sure hope so anyway!

Ok, I've had the Helmet lock from HD on 2 bikes on the Engine Guard and here's where I placed mine.

I've seen others where they have placed it facing forward but down near the highway peg. This gives you plenty of clearance from the ground and since the front wheel is turned towards the left away from the right side of the engine guard you have clearance there also. And I haven't had anything to worry about coming in contact with the faceshield. Hope this helps you.
