Default Exploring two options.......?

So "hypothetically" speaking, if you guys had two choose between the following for roughly the same cash which would you choose and why?

A) Upgrade your 103 with cams and headwork

B) Step up to a 107 kit that includes cams but no head work

There would obviously also be an upgrade to the stock exhaust, A/C, tuner, but that's going on no matter what.

I'd go ahead and do the 107 if it was me

Personaly, I think a touring scoot benefits more by enhancing torque across a wide RPM band and I don't think you would need head work anyway if you went the "more torque" route (more displacement but still a modest RPM via a set of cams with some more lift but not a lot of duration). The "more HP" route ("sweet spot" is more narrow and at higher RPM via greater air-flow with cams that apply more extended duration) is great if you stay up there and use it but (again, personally) I don't run consistently at high RPM.

Kinda what I was thinking and what got me looking at the 107 to begin with. Thanks for your input.

Went with the 107 on my 2008 96 ci and never looked back, SE Heads ported & polished, 577 cam, Rev Perf auto tuner & Big Sucker Air Cleaner. Really woke it up.

I just installed a 107", T-man 555tq cams, and Dragula 2-1 on my stock 96" and WOW what a difference. Already had a K&N filter and PC-V. going for the Dyno Tune in 150-miles to see what it's putting out, but so far very pleased with the difference. I did not do any head work.

Would be very interested in your results, thanks for your input. That's one of the cams I am looking at.

Where have you been hiding, and what happened to the Skunk? BTW, heads and jugs will probably cost close to the same amount, if I wanted high performance I'd probably go with the heads, but for everyday riding the jugs would do, jmo.

Have heard it said many times: There's no replacement for displacement.

I'll be posting the dyno sheet when I get it done. Should be first or second week of December.
