"Sick to your stomach" Thread

I had a huge pothole just outside my big gate.I would open the gate partway,and go around the edge of the pothole and through the gate.the hole had gotten around 8 inches or so deep,( we live on an un-maintained road).

b as I began to get off the kickstand,I moved forward just a little bit,and the rear tire hit the edge of the hole,and began to tip.by the time my foot hit the ground in the bottom of the hole,it was past the tipping point.

my leg gave way and me and the bike went over,all the way over,wheels up.

I got out form under it,and went to stand it back up,but couldn't.that's when I discovered I caught the end of the 20 ft pipe gate between the fender and fairing.I had to take the gate off the hinges and pull it back to stand the bike back up.

I had just finished test riding the new pipe and intake,bike was only a couple of months old.

scuffed the corner of the outer fairing,bottom corner of the saddlebag on the right side. then it gets ugly,the front fender had a huge gouge and scraped off paint,the upper fork slider cover had a big dent,and the lower fork leg was gouged.I was just sick and embarrassed that it even happened.

worst part was,I had 1000 deductible with progressive,and all they were going to cover or figure was parts cost ,cause I screwed up and told them I'd do the work myself.took them 2 weeks for an adjuster to get around to calling me,so I cancelled the claim and just replaced things myself.

other than the fender,gave me an excuse to put black parts on the front and the progressive monotubes.

EDIT:I switched to geico and got 500 deductible for half the premium.

Came out of the store to realize that my bike was not there. I was starting to freak out when I realized I had parked at the other end of the building.

The older I get, the more CRS and CRAFT has taken over my life.

Shortly after I got my RGC finished, I took it out for a short ride. Out on the slab I was crusin' about ummm 85 or so.. When I got home.. I noticed that my right saddle bag had flipped over backward.. The front quick release pin had come out and the only thing holding the bag on was the back pin. Well the lid of the bag was resting on my muffler and had burn a half dollar size circle in the new paint job.. Man.. did that make me sick to my stomach..

Bags are now BOLTED on..

Reading these posts makes me sick to my stomach, but leaving shrimp in my TP for a few days made me sick to my stomach. I have also stopped over a pot hole where there wasn't any place to put my foot. Obviously, bike went over. Ow, another ulcer.

Laying on the floor after putting a new rear tire up in it, put on the belt and was check the witness marks to line things up. Had a strap on it as it set for a day or so while i got the new rubber mounted on the rim.

Tightening up the axle nut, I managed to twist the LH side of the frame tube off the jack arm, and over she went, half gainer headed to the concrete floor.
I managed to jam my arm under the rear floorboard, got my leg under the front one, and thank god i had the strap on it.

Spent the next twenty minutes yelling for the wife( who was out back mowing) balancing a 700 lb motorcle. A quart of sweat and some 20 minutes of VERY careful fat guy yoga moves, I got around the far side and wiggkled it back onto the jack arm.

I know happily pay the 40 bucks to have a rear rire changed at the dealership.

Was not on my RG, but when I was a kid my dad bought me a 25 cc dirt bike. He asked me to sit on it and hold it upright while he adjusted the throttle cable. He was pushing up against the flat head screwdriver with both hands and lifted the bike's from end up. The driver slipped and he pushed it into his face about three inches. He almost poked his eye out, but remarkably had no long term damage. (He wasn't that pretty to begin with, and scars are cool.) Flashbacks to that particular childhood trauma make me sick to my stomach.
