I agree with you all to a point but the problem I see is that no matter what its an 88ci and thats a big bike with that motor and ill promise you your gonna need a 95" build and with good pieces its gonna cost you some dollars so you might wanna think about a different choice depending on funds , dont get me wrong I love these 100th bikes I owned a FXSTS and it needed more POWER and it created a beast in me and I went all out I mean deep and built a nice little bad azz 95" and spent some ducks and now you can buy a used fair milage Rg with 103" and 6 speed and prolly a larger tank for what that setup is gonna cost you in the end I bet
I would go for it. 1000 bucks you can upgrade it to a 95 Cu in. later if you want. Don't forget about Harleys motor exchange program, I think around 3500 bucks you get a fresh motor.

The 88s aren't much weaker if at all than a 96 & that bike should go 100K with only regular maintenance & minor repairs. Bottom line, it's a good deal, whenever you ask that question on the forums there's always somebody that got a better deal or finds something wrong with the deal that's presented.
I think I'm gonna jump on the deal. The seller its cool and straight forward. Wr are both law enforce ment and work together so nothin shady is goin on. He has alot of extra stuff he throwin in i didn't mention. I know the engine is as big as i would like but thus is my first bike and I'm gettin my feet wet
