Taking off heel shift
I want to take off the heel portion of the heel toe shifter on my 2012 fltrx as I only use the toe shift anyway. I looked at the unit but can't figure out what to do to take the heel portion off properly. Any help would be appreciated!

You will need to buy a spacer to take the slack left by removing the heel shifter.

Okay, thanks! What spacer do I buy? Do you have a part number?
I did buy the part from Harley that will go on the end for cosmetic purposes.
But how the heck do I take off the heel portion to begin with?

You loosen the tensioning screw on the shift lever, and slide it off. Since you already purchased the end cap, follow the instructions and install the end cap (a little locktite is recommended on the tensioning screw on the end cap.

Thanks. Now this is gonna make me sound stupid, but which screw is the tensioning screw? Is it the one from underneath that needs some kinda allen key/hex key?

That's the one. Loosen it up and it should pull off pretty easily.

Yes that's the correct screw it's a hex, losses it and pull off the heel shift lever then install the cover cap.

I had to take a screwdriver to mine to spread the shifter mount before it would pull off. Don't get carried away with it if you have to do the same. Just litely tap the flat tip into the gap on the shifter (after completely removing the screw) to open it up just a little. Then slide it off and put the cap on.

heel shifter
Kuryakyn makes a spacer for this if you want the shifter on the end of shaft instead of cap

you have to completely remove the screw to slide off the lever.
