I'll give the ground a try and turn the gain down to where it was 5/6 and see if that cures the problem. The ground has been at the fairing mount for the entire time without a problem, then last week I fire the bike up for a ride and this problem rears its ugly head. Hope to have the time too tear into the fairing this week and check things out, if not I'll just keep the volume low until I get a chance. I also had a clipping issue. When I spoke to a buddy who runs an audio shop he stated the power wire and fuse were my issue. He recommeded I go with a 8 gauge power wire and 60 amp fuse(running two amps). Since switching out I have had no issues with clipping or the amps shutting down.
You might want to increase to a true 10 gauge power wire and run your ground back to your battery.
If I remember correctly I used a 10 ga. Supply for the power with a 30 amp fuse. I'll double check everything and increase the gauge of the ground wire while I'm at it. Thanks Chris

PBR300X2 amp, and 1 set of Hertz 6.5" speakers in the fairing.
Has anyone else had sound quality issues grounding the amp on the frame "up front"? I'm undecided about where to ground it. Any tips or tricks running the power and ground wires under the tank of a RoadGlide? Thanx.
