I spliced into the brake/tail lamp on mine.
If you don't have a Tour-Pac, you just plug-n-play into that harness. I have both an Ultra and Chopped Tour-Pac, on quick detach mounts, so I wanted to leave the wiring harness available for them...

Picked up a 2009 recently with the clean rear fender, and gave it a go. I looked up all of the part numbers for the Street Glide in my 2009 parts catalog, and headed to the HD parts counter.
First thing the parts guy told me was, "It wont work". Being the stubborn type, I ordered the parts anyway, and waited four weeks for the painted part to come in. (After arguing with the parts guy about buying it in primer).
Well, they came in Sunday, so I headed to the garage. Here's the final result...

What do you think about leaving the stock fender tip light on?

2010 rear Fascia on a 2009...
For any "parts" guys out there, is the 2013 fender the same as previous years fenders? I had a 2010 fascia and light on my 2009 RG. I upgraded to a 2013 RGU and want to do the same mod. Possible?

I have a 2012 RGU no changes in the 2013. I just got everything to add the rear fascia and have done a test fit. I just have to get the time to actually install everything. I am not sure if my stuuf is for a 2010 or not. I will send you a list of the parts I ordered later of course the lasttwo or three numbers for the fascia are color code, mine is big blue pearl.

Looks good.
I did the same installation December 2011, and here is my thread that shows my work.
I also got better prices for all parts (Including Painted Fascia) from PcPain (a Forum Sponsor).
I made a splitter and installed it so I could plug the Tour Pak and Fascia in the same plug.
