Default Almost upgraded to an Ultra

The weather in the Dallas area the past couple of days is nothing short of spectacular, 75 degrees, sunny. Who could ask for more. So I played hooky from work and rode over to the dealer to get one of those hidden antenna kits.

While I was there I was talking to the guy who sold me my RGC and I was looking an an Ultra. As we were talking I made a comment about how with all of the stuff I'm adding to my custom it may have been a better idea to have gotten an Ultra instead. He actually has 3 Ultras in stock and we started looking and I made the mistake of sitting on one. Love that seat compared to the seat on my Custom. Then I told him how financially I thought this was a bad idea considering I'm just now a year into my current bike and loan and I didn't think he'd be able to swing a deal that I could live with. Naturally he turned on his full sales-guy mode and I was seriously considering sitting down and going through the numbers when that little voice in my head said "run!"

So I told him I needed to kick the idea around for a while and get back to work and headed out. Stopped and got gas and while I was filling up Deacon Blue this idiot woman driver on her phone nearly ran me down right next to the gas pump. I spilled gas all over the bike, even on the seat. !@##$%! Wiped the seat off and headed straight home, only about a mile fortunately.

When I got home I got all the equipment out to wash the bike and cleaned it up good. Of course if you're gonna wash it you may as well wax it too, so I did.

So the bike is all clean and shiny again and I'm sitting here in my study looking at it in the driveway. Why would I get rid of it? That thing is gorgeous!

Then again, Merry Christmas to me 2 years in a row???

Everytime I'm out with my wife I can't help but think "why didn't I opt for the Ultra?" On the other hand everytime I'm rolling solo or after washing and waxing her up I know I made the right choice.

That said Next time around I'll be bringing home an Ultra. Easier on my ears, LOL!

Guess its safe to say your love affair with the bike has been rekindled

You are not kidding about the last few days weather around here. I have been sneaking in rides every chance I get. About to give mine a much needed wash and wax and hopefully get in another ride today. Ride safe Crayon, which ever bike you decide on!

Another rider from North Texas loving this weather! Last weekend I did a 900 mile loop, including the Pig Trail in Arkansas. Just beautiful!

Yup, figured out it's quality of miles, not quantity that counts.

I made the mistake, but I came home with an Ultra a little over a week ago. Think it over, but just make sure you do what makes you happy, in the end that's all that counts.

Happy Turkey Day

Had made the move to an 07 RG,added detachable tour pack life was good.
2011 They released the RGU dealer offered me good money for my High mileage RG so I took the 2011 and life was good.
Now a 2013 RGU and life is good.
