Did you have to use any type of y-conector for the light bar? I have a 2012 RGU and looking to do this. I do not take my tour pack off and have not looked at how or where it plugs in.

My question is where did you get the LED tour pack lighting match painted to the bike?
Looks much better than having it black.

On the LED Tour Pak Light Bar - Took it to a body shop and had it painted to match the bike.
On the wiring - If you mean the tri-bar light on the fascia - I'm using the break/run version. I had some Deutsch parts left over from previous projects so just used that to make a plug and and plugged it into the accessory port under the seat.

I have the detach on my Tour Pak. I made a "Splitter" for the Tour Pak plug. The plug on the other side is for the Tour Pak speakers.
I don't like the Bullet lights. So I used the Road Glide Turn Signal bar.
Here is the splitter I made.

I bought everything from Lakeshore HD at a discount so that also helps. Their website is lshd1.com.
The parts for just the Fascia are:
Fascia (Ember Red Sunglo) 59739-12DJS $78.36
Torx Pan Head Screw (x2) 2-2295 $1.60
Tri-Bar Run/Break Light 68358-07A $79.96
Flange Nut (x6) 6-7499 $4.80
Stud Plate (x2) 59818-09 $14.40
$179.12
|
I Priced the parts at Lakeshore. I bought all of my parts from PcPain (Jon), including the Painted (Black) Fascia.
All parts were much less including the shipping than Lakeshore with free shipping.

It all depends on how professional you want to make it.
You can save money by just cutting and splicing. But you are stuck with the results.
That way makes it hard to change it later on down the road.
But if you take the time, you can spread the cost over time and have a great result.
It just takes patience. Check around for the correct parts at the best price.
Good luck and have fun.

Dredging this discussion up! I wanted to do filler strips also, but like the fascia idea much better.
I'm unsure of the connecter your talking about. Any chance someone has a pic or something showing where you ran the lights on the fascia to?
