FLTRX rear turn sigs/plate bracket on a FLTRU

Folks, I want to relocate my license plate on my Ultra below the signal bar.

(Familiar with Softbrake, prefer not to go that way if I dont have to)

I'm looking at part number 53702-04A.

According to the fitment info, it wont fit a 2013 FLTRU.

It appears to me to be the same parts as on the FLTRX, and the Street Glide.

I'm thinking about ordering OEM replacement parts for the FLTRX.

Does anyone have a similar kit on their Ultra?

Well, to start with, the kit you reference is for the pre-08 "old" frame bikes with the narrower rear fender, 09 and later bikes have the wide fender, completely different profile so none of the parts swap.

Shoot me a PM in a day or so, I've got a complete Street Glide fender with lights here, as well as my Ultra, I can give you a better idea of what will swap, I don't remember off the top of my head, and the SG fender is in the attic of my shop, won't get up there today.

Is the 2013 FLTRX rear fender different from the 2013 FLTRU rear fender?

If not, then the light/plate assembly from the 2013 FLTRX should fit on a 2013 FLTRU, right?

The are indeed different, the Ultra fenders have a big-arse hole/bracket under the big light, and it seems to me SG/FLTRX has a couple holes under the light bar that the ultra fender does not.
Not sure if just the license plate bracket will both on to either fender, I'll check it out over the weekend if you send me a reminder, I'm sequestered to the house today.

yes, the rear fender is different. the fltru fender has 'dimples' and is drilled for the center mount taillight, while the fltrx fender is smooth and is not drilled.

on the fltrx, the license plate doesn't bolt to the fender. it bolts to the backside of the taillight bar. not sure how it mounts on the ultra version.
