Windshield trim - pain in the @ss!
I hope I'm not the only one that had to wrestle with this thing for a while. Even still, its not flush everywhere.
It definitely looks better than the stock black garden hose, but whoo wee.
It was not easy to get all the holes to line up, even with their optional offset bolts etc, but it finally came together.

Looks fine in the photos, but I know what you mean, dealing with the rubber windshield trim shouldn't be such an exercise in futility. Have you had the outer fairing off yet? That's just as bad, if not worse - at least until you've done it a few times.

Yours looks fine in the pic, but I couldn't agree more. You'd think for that much money the damn thing would FIT. And what's with the chrome bolts on my black trim? I would have preferred black, which I'm sure they'll sell me at 2 bucks a pop.

Now that you put the windshield trim on you should take it OFF and put it in the junk pile. The windshield trim will screw up the paint on the outer fairing and there are threads in this forum that show pics of the outer fairing damage caused by the windshield trim, it cost me over $300 to fix the paint on my outer fairing because of the windshield trim. The outer fairing is easy to take off and put on IMO it is a piece of cake.

Eesh. Never thought about that. Well, it might be back to the garden hose trim!

I'm with Ironmark on this one. My fairing was damaged, too, although I used pinstripes to hide the marks in the paint where the trim rubbed against it. I would remove the trim. JMHO
