Got the bike back from the dealer. They didn't even take the forks apart or change fluids. All they did was tighten the bearings (again, third time in 1500 miles).

I made them keep it and double check their work... Still only work done was adjusting the steering nut.

I have only rode about 30 miles (since picking it up) but I'm almost positive I heard the sound twice...

Welcome to the forum from Central Jersey. I hope your fork situation gets addressed. Man, how many times do you have to tell them before they do something??!! I put Heritage bars on mine and love them. You'll have to do some tweaking to get it all right for you, which can be time and $ consuming. Lots of info here so good luck and keep us posted.

Welcome to the forum. At least they are working on it and not saying it is within spec as they tried with me. Thanks the Lord for this website so I could speak with some knowledge with service manager.

I just picked up my '01 RG last night. I've ridden all sorts of bikes and owned sport bikes previously. This is my first HD. I noticed that the entire front end moves slightly forward and back when you push/pull the handlebar.

Is this a trait with the RG?

nope, not normal! might need new bearings,or at least riser bushings.(go with urethane).

Try tightening the fork stem first.
