SHORT NOTICE
SFC DAVE SHEFFIELD US ARMY RETIRED 30 Nov 12, Augusta, GA
Many of you have already gotten the sad news of the passing of SFC Dave "Shef" Sheffield. Dave, an American Patriot, Veteran of the Air Force, Army and service adviser at Augusta Harley-Davidson was severely injured Tuesday November 20, on his way home from work. A truck failed to yield and turned in front of him. Dave, a combat veteran, first served his country in the Air Force from 1976 to 1992, when he transitioned to the Army until his retirement in 2006. Dave served in Afghanistan, where he was injured by an IED and received a Purple Heart. Dave was an avid biker who loved riding and talking about his Harley Electra Glide. In fact, it was his only mode of transportation. Dave is survived by 2 sons, Chad & Paul, and his daughter Bobbie. Dave was a big part of the Augusta biker community and will be missed by many. There will be a memorial ride followed by a memorial service this Friday, 1630 Hrs at Augusta Harley Davidson. The Patriot Guard has been invited to join family and friends in honoring Dave with a flag line and riding in his memory.
