Totally f'd up this time
I headed out to my buddy's shop last night for bikenight and of course took the dog with me like I have done many times in the past. Well, my buddy started up an old shovel he had been workin on, and the pooch bolted, and hasn't been seen since. He lives out in the country, so it doesn't look real promising. I have taken the little shit out there a bunch of times in the past without him even a hint of him taking off. He has come back when he was out on the property with one whistle-not last night, the bike fired, he bolted, and damn if he didn't keep goin.
We have been out putting up posters, and searching since last night with no luck.
Geez, I feel like an asshat.
Sorry to be Danny downer, just venting.
Rowdy

Nothing you can do but keep going back to that area, circle around keep calling his/her name. Knock on your buddies neighbor's doors and ask them to be on the lookout, hopefully he/she turns up tired, dirty and very hungry.
I feel for ya. "It's just a dog" but they become part of the family, hell I talk to mine like it's a teenager, only one that is ALWAYS happy to see me when I get home.

Whats this bike night your talking about? This out at JPS? Sorry about the dog, mine are afraid of their own shadows. Luckly they don't really like being outside (Cockapoo's btw).

this is depressing
hope he makes it home or back to where he took off from
keep some food and water out at the last place you saw him in case he makes it back so it's there if he is hungry from his trip

I hope you find the pooch. Mine get spooked if something goes boom or vroom. Breaks my heart to hear anything bad happen to one. I like dogs better then people.

Had something similar happen to me once, dog happened to find another dog in heat, he was out making a family while I was worried looking for him. I hope your dog shows up, and you don't have to pay puppy support.
