I had an idiot walk out in front of me yesterday and I'm running a D&D FatCat with performance baffle! He had earphones and an iPod!

Hey, I think you may be onto something. Maybe we could develop a bluetooth app that would transmit the sound of our pipes directly into people's iPods and cell phones.
That would sell!

Nah, just run them over, take the iPod. Maybe the headphones if they are worth anything.
You cannot fix stupid, and they do not have an app for that.

There have been two teenagers killed here in the last year walking along railway tracks listening to their Ipod/Iphones.
While it is sad to have it happen, it is a bit Darwinian/Natural Selection at work. Most "accidents" are preventable by using common sense but sadly common sense is not nearly common enough.
Instead of just noise, perhaps hydrid cars should also emit an odour that announces their presence, that would help the deaf and blind folks roaming around out there. Ya'll know when a skunk has been around the neighborhood.

How funny father in law pulled up for dinner tonight in his hybrd toyota 3 year old grandson wanted to know if his car was broke because it wasn't making noise.

So the dweebs with the stock pipes are actually more 'In Danger" by not being heard. A new twist to the old statement "Loud Pipes Saves Lives" could be "Get Whacked on a Quiet Bike"
