I plan on taking my crash bars off my Glide this winter. I just purchased a set of Jac-Knife pegs from Iron Aces. They come in black or chrome. I paid about $170. Check them out at www.ironacesspeedshop.com.
When I was thinking about taking the crash bar off of my Glide, I was going to put forward controls on the thing. I like the look of them, and like them on my Low Rider. I decided the Glide was a bagger, and left it alone. Cheaper that way.
If you remove your crash bar you will need a fairing support like the ones from Hells Foundry. For long trips I put it back on just for the highway pegs and lowers for rain or cold temps, it is just 3 bolts.
