Had the same issue with mine. Love the black and hated the scallop colors. Here's what I had done and I love it. Good luck!

rdkng08, that looks really nice. I actually met with my painter yesterday and we worked out some ideas. He is working on renderings for me, but basically he is going to paint over all of the striping with a Candy Emerald green with flames in it as a black negative, outlined in silver pinstripe. Then a new layer of clear over the entire bike with a silver flake in it. Handing him the bike next Tuesday, says it will take three weeks. Once i have the renderings, I will post them. I feel like a ten year old on Christmas eve. Maybe now I will be able to pick my bike out of the crowd at the dealership!
