As I posted photos of my new RG on Facebook, a friend asked me what my bike's name was. I have never named a bike, but it did make me think for a bit.
So dose anyone else have a name for their shark? If so, what is it, and how did it get it's name?
I don't name my vehicles. I call the 11' CVO RGU - Shark and my 99' RK - Old One when the wife asks which bike we're taking.
As for naming pets, the reason people started naming pets is so the kids don't eat them. Go ahead and name your pig Earnie and see if the kids will eat it...
My car mechanic called my 11' CVO RGU - RV. I thought it was funny.

The Tour Glide was Dad's bike. He never named her. He left this world while traveling cross country on her to come live with me. There was no accident. Peaceful passing in his hotel room after talking to me and drinking a 6 pack and smoking a bowl, watching tv. Gotta say, that man went out right. No fear, no pain, no regrets.
We'll do well together. She's still in the shop getting a makeover so I can take her out this year.
That is Sweet Sissy, our's is Lace, couldn't do the faggish gold wagon wheels at the time, funny cause we except diversity, race sex and stand to understanding, but don't waver from the strenghts which hold us together...anyways slapped laces(spoked wheels)on her[03] for the first 55k
I named mine " Judy kay" after my sister that past away 8 years ago. She was around bikers when I was a kid and always brought me around them. I have wanted a harley since I was 10 years old. I know she would love this bike so thats why I name her after my Sister.
It's black, like the man in black.
I love Johnny Cash music when I'm riding.
It took ALL of the cash in my pocket the day I bought it.
Now I am spending ALL of my spare cash on parts and bling.
"Hester", because Harley calls her color Scarlett Red. The name is actually unintended double entendre. In the beginning of The Scarlett Letter, Hester Prynne was considered a loose women and shunned by "polite" society. In the end, she was recognized as a wise and virtuous woman by those in her community who actually got to know her. Bikers often get the same book-by-its-cover rap.
depending on the situation it's either "the blue beast", or "the blue bitch", but as of right now it's "blue balls" cause I live in michigan and haven't been able to ride her since November!
I named my Dyna (sold and miss her) "Hell Bitch". Inspiration was the horse that bit Woodrow F Call, played by Tommie Lee Jones, in Lonesome Dove. Horse was spirited and bit a small chunk of flesh out of his ass. Why? I laid my dyna down due to loose pea gravel on a winding and sloped road at Fort Rucker. I landed on my ass cheek and it felt like a horse bit me and kept a mouthful for a few hours.
I have yet to settle on a name for my RG even though I've considered a few names that didn't stick.
meet Ginger (my rg) and MaryAnn (my buddy's sg) named by my wife on our last trip. so far the names have stuck.
