1971 - Med Cruise, Ship sprang a leak in Athens harbor, twice.
1972 - South China Sea. 300 of 366 days at sea. (In Da Nang a few hours.) Lost 11 pilots/crew
1973 - Norfolk Naval Shipyard, Portsmouth, Va. Fire, dust, noise.
I salute those who served in-country. Several of my friends who did are now suffering the effects of agent orange and PTSD. The VA tries to help, but suffers from paperwork, rules, and tight budgets. There were no tight budgets when we were launching planes, dropping bombs, and burning fuel. (I love the smell of JP4 in the morning.)
