Fat Cat getting too loud
Hello ,
As my D&D Fat Cat is becoming hard to listen to, is it possible to put another muffler on the 2:1 header pipe.?
The bike is really responsive and a pleasure to rode, but my ears have had better days , and the prolonged volume is not a good idea.
Any suggestions will be appreciated.

I have read on other forums, people putting supertrap mufflers on dd head pipes. It is supposed to be quieter without power lose.

I have D&D Fatcat and I luvit. However I do use ear plugs on extended trips and cloudy days. It is a nice quiet rumble with ear plugs and I can still hear my music. You actually get more bass sound with the ear plugs.

X2 on the ear plugs.
I've got the big bore baffle in mine and it's way too loud without the ear plugs.

I have the D&D Fat Cat with the Louvered baffle. My HD shop said it was the quietest. It is my understanding from talking to D&D thatbthey sell 3 different baffles and the Louvered it the quietest. It is pretty quiet when just crusing. If I twist the throttle it will wake up and on decel it has a nice growl.

You may just need to wrap the baffle with fiberglass. Should be able to get some from D&D. I have this pipe on my Heritage.

If your looking for a quite baffle. I've got a used 1 that I got with my pipe. I'd sell very reasonable. My muffler already had the performance baffle in the muffler so I've never tried the quiet baffle. Before I bought a different baffle I'd try to get the old 1 out first. I've heard they can be hard to get out without damaging the muffler body, however I have never tried it.
