Thanks killintime, I have considered that possibility especially since the fairing bracket was damaged in the accident. I had a good bit of work in straitening that bracket. I am confident that the fairing is strait. I have measured the thing nine ways to Sunday. The misalignment is most visible when looking down the front of the tank and I cant really see any way the tank would be mis-aligned. I am really leaning toward a rear tire or swing arm issue.
What year is your bike?? Why did you straighten the upper fairing bracket when you can get a new one for around $50 from HD? Did you do the repair work or did you have the bike repaired at a shop? If you had the work done then take it back to the repair facility that did the work and have them look at the bike. Yes the is a alignment proceedure for your bike and it is in the HD touring sevice manual.
