Default Is this a mia culpa

If this is your mia culpa for having a web site up for at least a year that added exhorbitant shipping charges to customers web orders, then all I can say is "that is one lame mia culpa".
The fact that you titled your recent response to a poster as "A bit harsh" further convinces me that you don't really feel like you or your company has done anything unusual. This sort of behavior reminds me of the politician who gets caught with his hand in the cookie jar and his retort is "It is all a big mistake, I didn't mean to do it". Customer service may not be your calling Mr. Mark. If you are in a retail business, customer trust is about the only commodity you have going for you. I have no desire to belabor this anymore. You are free to set policy and run your company anyway that suits you. Best of luck.

Wow, I think that is a outrageous accusation and indeed harsh. It's only gouging if the quoted charge is actually charged. In fact if I recall when I bought from Mark and Co. 2 years ago I don't think I was even charged until the product was actually made and ready to ship. In fact if I remember correctly I got a call informing me it was done, and ready to ship, which is when I incurred the shipping charges. I bought two shields (summer/winter) and they were both packaged/shipped for the price of one shield. I don't run a clear view on this bike (have on previous bikes) but I wouldn't hesitate buying from the clear view team again or defending what I believe to be a great company that cares about their customers and has excellent customer service.

A simple phone call would have cleared everything up, but these days nobody likes calling anyone anymore. Maybe there should be a text feature on the website, lol.

Outrageous?

Mmm, not quite.

Basically, if anyone pays the high shipping, are they getting reimbursed to the "oversight"? How many potential customers did they lose due to the quits being off? I'm not accusing them of anything.

It's a disservice to them really.

So, if someone orders through the site and over pays, are they getting refunded without asking?

Anyway, why would I call and complain about high shipping, I'd just assume the site quotes wee correct and shop elsewhere.

I have no fight here but a consumers thoughts.

This thread is going to crap real quick. Look its a free market, you don't like someones price, shipping policy, return policy, warranty, ect..... then don't shop there. Theres no need to come on here and bash a business you dont like for any of these reasons.

He said he adjusts the shipping pricing before processing payment. Therefore no one has nor will pay 20$ to ship a bottle of Novus.

I look forward to hearing from you all. Thanks, Mark
I went on your website yesterday, during the holiday, and my shipping came up to 23 and change for shipping to 19977. Can I call you tomorrow sometime and place my order?

Just to let ya know, looking for a 10.5 inch with a recurve, light smoke, for a 2004 Eglide. It's for my Dad!

I didn't want to call during the holiday. I had a 9.5 n my Eglide, love you shields, I just don't remember the shipping being high in 2009 when I got mine!

Just came across this thread...

All small orders, such as a decal or polish, are converted to USPS priority mail when the order is processed internally...$4.95 for a small package, $10.95 for larger packages. As for windshields and shipping...UPS charges what they call a "dimensional weight" so it's based much more on the box size than the weight.

If anyone ever has questions like this, please feel free to call...we're always glad to help!

A windshield is going to be $30 or more due to size. If you get shipping cheaper from others then the amount they're losing is built in to the price I think. I have a business also (not bike related) and dimensional weight is the rule. For those who haven't programmed shopping carts it's a royal pain in the *ss especially if you're hand coding it. You end up either charging too much or getting shorted. For CV to post they'll adjust it is fine, that's what I do also so that it's fair to everyone.

I have a Clearview shield, was reasonable shipping and well packed.
