When I installed mine, I found there was a lot of play in all the mountings- you could adjust each mounting point a good bit in or out. Yours look fine in your pics, but if you don't like the gaps loosen (but don't remove) the fasteners and see what you can wiggle around to get you happy with the gap.

Ain't but one way it can fit - it's molded to the engine guard. No possible adjustment there.
