Engine upgrade, I need suggestions...
Gents,
Once again I come seeking your wisdom.
My first HD is the 07 Vrod aka Vera, with Trask and multiple mods. It kills with speed.
Vera has a sister Regina my 12 FLTRX. Regina has the 21" sage sinisters, progressive monotube 1.25 lowered, K&N forward intake, American custom headers not cat, Rush Slipons, Arlen Ness adjustable 10" apes, and they are getting finished tomorrow. I run the FuelMoto dynojet PV.
What is a cost effective mod to give her some juice? Cams? 107? 114? And what else?
I want torque, don't want more sound, good MPG, but I want her to run with VTX's, or bigger engines? What advice do you have? No turbo, but want more get up and go.
If you were me what would you do, how much will it cost, and will I get good reliability, mpg, and juice? All ideas are welcome I am leaning toward the FM setup, but want your experience and what to do and not do.
Thanks in advance, and yes I love my Harley's!
Ride hard!

If it were me, with what you have I'd start with cams.

If your looking for something that will surpise you most everytime you roll it, then perhaps a 117"(your 4.375" crank, with 4.125" cylinders)would be of interest.
They always catch 130-135 ft/lbs, even with low-lift cams, run very cool, with the proper cylinder head, and as long as your not hammering on it constantly, fuel economy is very good.
Feel free to call us, and we'll be happy to take the time to dicuss this, alonf with other options that we have available here.

I would start with cams also ~ Call Fuel Moto ~ 222's or 555's and talk with him about the header. He will email you a new map for the updates ~ I ran these combo's on my 10 ULTRA and it had tons of torque... SemperFi

I agree. Cams are the first place to start. They will make a big difference

Give Bob Wood a call over at Wood Performance. He will hook you up with what you need. I installed his TW400-6 cams not to long ago and they fxcking rock. Was like a whole different bike, TQ is everywhere and hits hard at low RPM's and pulls till red line.

I just traded my 2010 Road Glide. About 18 months ago, I bought a 103 kit, added cams and sent the heads to Branch O'keefe http://www.branchokeefe.com/ and had the heads ported. I had TTS Master Tune which was tuned by Steve Cole and RB Racing Pipes. The bike rocked! Yesterday I was visiting dealership where I traded my bike. The dealership owner approached me and told me that he road my bike over the weekend. He commented on how responsive the throttle was and how much fun my bike was to ride. It all depends what you're looking for but my setup gave a lot of low end and mid range torque.
