What was 1st year for a Pan-Head?
My guess on the pic, since we have to pick a specific year is, 1953
Great pic! Hard to tell the year of the bike from that angle but I'd say early fifties from the uniform. (Love the bow tie!)
And not to jack your thread but I couldn't let it go without posting a pic of my own grandpa "on duty". One of three "speed cops" at the time. Feel free to guess the bike year.
