Default Replace gas lines or fry!

Hope this saves someone a world of hurt. I took "Chivo" my hard-tail out for a spin the other day. Its a 2000 Ultra Jackhammer. Rode for about 45 minutes, came back, and went inside the house for a glass of ice tea. I came back out about 30 minutes later to find gas streaming out of the gas line all over the engine/exhaust. I cut the petcock (peacock?) off and looked at the gas line. It had deteriorated and was thin as paper where it "burst". I shuddered to thiink what could of happened had I been cruising at 70 mph when it cut loose. My guess is that the alchohol in gasoline must have ate thu it. It was a clear "see-thru" type of gas line. I think it might be a good idea to replace these on a regular bases now.

Gotta love that ethanol! It happened in my weed eater too. The line was like powder when i pinched it. I freaked over that, if it was my bike I think I would have went over the edge!
