Child Board for DYI threads ???

Is it possible/worth the time to create a "read only" board for members to submit threads for DIY stuff like changing speakers or even doing repairs? I know there are different ways to accomplish the same mod/repair and peoples ideas vary but it sure would help out some of the members that are thinking of tackling a project they've never done before. We have a section like this on one of the Avalanche boards I help out on and when someone post a "how do I" question it's real easy to link that thread into their post to help them out.

I did find the DIY section but it does allow for comments in the thread which sometimes gets to cluttering the thread up.
