mp3gain doesn't see WMA files, unless I'm doing something wrong

so everything I've imported via CD into Windows Media Player, I'm ripping to mp3 with boxoft wma to mp3 software, which is fine, but it's tagging all my songs 'blues'

there are several threads on mp3gain on the DJ forums, and it's use is widely talked about, 93, 95, 96 are all listed as good targets

maybe the clipping not as important

I also have concerns about the live recording throwing everything off.

I think I ended up with 93

at one point, this program wiped out all my stuff, made a bunch of songs white noise. ( I usually make a copy first, not this time )

not as bad a deal as super glue on the paint or something

got everything downloaded again, re-ripped from CD and where ever

verify that this only works with mp3's, so had to translate a bunch of windows media files, and flacs, oddb's didn't carry, can go back and hand edit under properties.

recovered everything, added and subtracted a few artists here and there

sounds good, overall

I'd just say that on my sony DSX-310, I like the sound better with the DMX OFF,
at least after the mp3 gain, otherwise everything is too compressed and you start losing too much bass
