Other states chime in, how common is this that one direction will have a flashing red and side trafic have a flashing yellow.
here in la, if you have a flashing red, the cross traffic usually has a flashing yellow. no matter where i am, if i come across an intersection like that, i do not move until i know that the cross traffic is indeed coming to a stop. better to be wrong, than dead right....
