I bought a 18" from a freind that took it off his 2012 SG. I was midstreak though my disassembly and really started looking at the wheels. Did a little research and measuring and decided to make it my rear wheel and buy another 18" and use on the front as well, matching wheel set. I already modified the center hub to accept the larger bolts they use on the rear rotor and larger bolts for the pulley. Once I get another front wheel they are going out for powder coating. I will probably run the stock tire on the front wheel but am thinking of runnig a 140/70-18 avon on the rear? I still have some measuring to do before I order the rear tire. Let me know your opinoins, I will post pics later.
I'd love to see it, as I had the same idea. The problem with doing it on my 2010, is my year uses a 180 tire and the rear matching rim is way wider than the front. I don't want to go to a thinner rear tire just to have an 18 on the rear. But I still want to see yours when it's done!
The 2012 wheels (08 and later) have the 25mm axle, your 02 has a 1 inch axle, so make sure every thing will work before doing a powder coat on the wheels. There are wheel mounting kits that will work for what you are doing.

Yeah I am going to change the bearings on the rear to accept the 1" axle. I will be leaving the front bears 25mm and use the newer axle since the fork lowers are the same. Thank you for the comments.
