J&m Fairing and Rear Speakers Without Amp
Trying to decide whether to go ahead on the fairing and rear speakers for a 2013 Ultra while the promo code is good
Will their be a significant difference over the OEM speakers? I can't do the amp and speakers right now so I thought I would do the amp later in the spring.
I've sent a couple of emails to J&M but no response on this.
Thanks.

I have this instead of the OEM speakers, it is better. (I don't have the amp, but it's good enough that I don't need one). I can easily hear it at 70 mph.

J&M Speakers
I've got the J&M fairing speakers and the 250 watt amp. Works great! Road from Chicago to Memphis this summer at a steady 75-80 mph. I could hear my music just fine.
Part of my winter plan is to add the HD saddlebag speaker system and upgrade to the 500 watt amp.

I installed the J&M 7.25" speakers in my '09 two years ago. It made a big difference.
When riding at freeway speeds, (70 MPH) I would not hear the radio with the OEM speakers.
After I installed the J&M speakers (no amp) I could hear the music even when passing at 80 MPH.
I don't have money to spend on extras so I was happy with just the speakers.
But I won the Hawg Wired Amp and speakers at SWII. I installed them and WOW, what a difference.
I thought I could hear the music before. But with the Amp, I turn it down to keep from hurting my own ears.
I have been using the 6.5" speakers that came with the Hawg Wired kit. But the bass sometimes bottoms out.
I am going to change back to the J&M 7.25" to see if the bass is the same.
Bottom line is that if you want to install the J&M 7.25" speakers without the Amp, you will not be disappointed.
But you will not "Blow everyone away" with your radio.

Thanks, Guys. I may go ahead and bite the bullet and do it all at once (amp and speakers). Looking forward to the install.

One more thing. The Hawg Wired amp was a "Plug N Play" set up.
No extra Fused wire needed to be run back to the battery. Just plugged it in.
It used Commercial Velcro to attach it to the inside of the fairing. Put it behind the fairing pocket.
Clean
