Default Ignition Question

I am building a fairy stout 98" engine for my Glide. I have been looking into the Daytona Twin Tech ignition but I do not want to spend the amount of money that they are asking for them. Is changing the ignition a "MUST DO" or can I get by with the factory ignition?

I'd call that more than "Fairy Stout".

Sorry, Bro.

First time going this far into my Glide. It should give me over 100/100, but the torque is what I am shooting for the most.

no way to tell but the stock ecm has a fairly aggressive timing curve on 88" baggers. Not sure what year yours is but if it is a carb and you are going 98" it must be a pre 07. My 04 95" egc that had mild head work and mild cam needed a dtt adjustable ignition for optimum performance.

Yep, my Glide is an 01 so it has the carb. I was able to lock the price down pretty good for the ignition. Do you think that $200 is a bad price for brand spaken new ignition?

what brand? if it is a daytona twin tech that is a good price. I paid something like $225 in 2005 or so. You will then need the software and cables to give it a custon map unless it runs good with the standard dial settings. DTT and headquarters are the same unit as I believe crane is as well. S&S made a neat one back then that had a knock sensor that it would autmatically adjust the timing. i think it was called IST or something like that but it was kind of spendy.

Yes it is a Daytona Twin Tech ignition. I am trying to get what it is that I need as cheep as I can as I want to buy a set of pipes from Drago. A friend of mine has a really cool toy from DTT. It is to measure the AFR. I think that I am going to relieve him of that item.

Daytona makes nice stuff I would reccccc. more control you have the better tuning you can have. We are a dealer for them if you have any questions calls or them.
