Default YASQ (Yet Another Speedo Question)

Were there any years where the speedo was electronic (as opposed to cable driven) yet was NOT run by the J Bus (hope I got that name right)? What years? I'm trying to fit a speedo to my metric. I have one coming from a '10 Rocker (supposed to be the same size as the RG/EG) but I think it uses that J Bus connection. Not sure I can get it to hook up as the metric doesn't have that. I think a "generic" electronic connection would be the way to go. ("Should" only be hot, ground, VSS hot, and maybe VSS ground.) Looking on Ronnies parts fiche isn't really helping and I'd rather not buy a service manual for each year.

Thanks, guys and gals.
