Default FLTRX tail lights

Okay, On my 2011 RGC, I am trying to powder coat the rear tail light. I have the wires out, with the exception of the ground (black) wire still sitting in the reflector. I have been known to break stuff, so If there is an easy way to pull this connector out of the reflector, let me know. Thanks.

EDIT: I have looked at this, and I have two other options. Disassemble the deutcsh plug. (PIA) Cut, solder and heat shrink the wire harness.

Those ground wires were the same reason I cut and soldered. There might be another way but cutting seemed a whole lot easier than disassembling the deutcsh plug. I wanted the solder joints inside the housings but there's not much wire to work with ... I made the cut rougly 3/4 in. into the housings and soldered extensions onto the wires before I reassembled to give some room.

Here's where I made my cuts ...
