Default Battery Charging Problem 2012

Guy's, I was in a big hurry the other day and parked my bike inside my trailer (my storage) and jumped off the bike and left the ignition switch "on".....I know, what an idiot .....anyway, I come out in the morning and obviously its dead.
I charged the battery on 6amps for 5 hrs and I get nothing. I just charged it overnight(12hrs) on 4amps. It's now only showing a tiny bit of life (dash lights barley visable) Questions is: have I permanently damaged the battery by letting it go so dead and now it wont charge and need a new one?
I am using a Schumaker battery charger and maintainer

Thanks for any help

I would try a different charger first, and make sure you have good contact on the bat. posts. Set the charger on two amp. You can put the charger on boost to start the bike, then take a long road trip, just don't turn the bike off until you are back home. Then load test it, that will tell you if bat. is messed up.

The stock battery is an AGM type battery.
This might help you...

something like that happened to a friend, he had had to take it in and get a new voltage regulator, a stator, compinsator, and a battery.

it was all under warranty

It sat on the charger all day today....still nothing. I will throw a multi-meter on it tomorrow at work and see what it has for voltage. I'm just really surprised that it wont charge.

Thanks for the help, hope I can get it squared away for the weekend!!

Heat is always an issue to take into consideration, if you have any time on it the heat might have ended an already existing issue.

A multi meter won't tell you if you have a bad cell, it needs to be load tested.
