Default When to decat

Reading lots of threads on decating the exhaust & I am wondering if I should wait until after the 1K mile service or will the dealer even notice it was done?

Waited till after the 1k to do anything, not cause of the dealer saying anything, cause I had 1k on it in about 5 days, would have done it in maybe 3 but had to work. Enjoy your new roadie toSusteve.

I dumped my entire stock exhaust at 300 miles, and then I did the 1000mi service myself.
Bike is 2 years old, hasn't been in the dealers shop yet.

You mean the rear brake light switch??
Nope, primarily because if you don't cook them with the cat they don't break, at least that's the theory. Did anyone else notice that the same switch they use on all models only fails on FLs with the switch right behind the cat??
2 years and 8500+ miles, still working just fine, I check it frequently.

It's a $16 part, when it breaks I'll order another one.

Yes the switch , I meant to say. My cat on the 2010 was way behind the switch. The only reason I changed was I heard it could short the brake light out and didn't want that happening at the wrong time , if ya know what I mean. I also heard it should start leaking first and give you a warning its going bad.
I don't like others working on my bike either so I know what you mean.
