Problem is fitting in the new "info center" into inner fairing dash.

They could put the info center where the tach and speedo are and put the gauges up top.

Look for a retro to the "tourglide" type fairing of the late 80's early 90's. The new info center will be attached to the handle bars much like the speedo and tach are now. Current radio position in the dash will morph to holding speedo and tach that are slightly larger than the fuel and voltage meters but small than the current speedo and tach. Air temp and oil pressure display will move to the info center. Any liquid cooling will stay in the fairing lowers like they have now.

The new outer fairing will have better metal attachment threaded nuts placed into it. The fins will no longer be part of the alignment process of putting the inner back on the outer.

Attachment points will be similar to beefier torx type screws found under the batwing fairing out of sight by the front shocks.

Headlights will be smaller but more rectangular in shape, there will be an LED option but it will require first born child or digits from each hand.

There will be an on-board compressor to adjust the rear shocks and the windshield will have a power tilt option.

The mirrors will be built into the outer fairing but will fold inward for storage. The mirrors will also have those fancy little arrow lights built into them that show up in the mirror and also will have orange LED'S facing forward.

Only thing that will stay the same is the glove boxes on the inner fairing.[/QUOTE]

Sales Manager at my local shop stated he has been to the prototype testing, not good yet, they are figuring at least a year to get the bugs out. The big rumor, the V-Rod goes away with the re-intro to the shark, no need for two Porsche water cooled bikes.

After seeing the results of Project <whatever>, it is rather easy to see why no 2014 Road Glide. They ran out of Engineers. They needed more time to figure out how to get the Infotainment package into a redesigned fairing. A big part of the new Infotainment is the ability to do touch screen. Let's face it, the radio on the Road Glide is not exactly within arms reach. Something has to be done to make that happen. The good part is, that Infotainment deeleybob is just a flat screen, and it can be put anywhere there is room, it does not need much depth, at least it shouldn't.

As for the Twin Cooling, it will be exactly like every other Touring Model. It will only be available on the Ultra, not on the Custom (no lowers), assuming they do both models if/when they bring it back. It makes no sense to design a separate cooling for just one model, not very cost effective at all. Besides, it should work as is on a Road Glide. It may have some bearing on the fairing design, as would incorporating that vent (which should be painted to match)

Cool

I am just happy that RGC CVO are not in the horizon for a few more years, and then there is the known fact that no blue RGC CVOs will be made until after 2018... So I will not be tempted to change my bike for awhile...

If first two day sales are an indicator, my guess is water cool. Local dealers (4 in 50 mi radius) sold out every UC Limited they got! Lots of people have been waiting for water cooling of any type for a long time.

Oh, c'mon! The no-more-vrod rumor has been running for years now. The revo engine with it's high revs and power living up past 5000 rpm, it just isn't suited toward a bagger. Even if they DID put the revo in another bike, why would they discontinue the vrod? having the same motor in two models only helps them. That's like saying, why put the 103ci vtwin in more than one model.

I thought the whole reason for the model-year off was they wanted the redesign, but the manufacturing tooling needed to be refreshed. So, redesign and factory machines replaced. I can't imagine they'd be making it up as they go along. No, it had to be already decided.
