CT to Camden NC

Wife and I are planning a trip to NC to visit friends this spring or summer. Don't want to ride the highway. Would prefer secondary roads. Any ideas on a route would be appreciated. It's not going to be a rushed trip as I'd like to sight see down and back. Thanks, David

Ride Safe.

Don't know all the roads thru Jersey, but if you go thru Dover, DE, you can head east to Lewes, DE OR ride down past Atlantic City & ride the Cape May Ferry over to Lewes, DE & then stay RT1 S down thro all the beaches to Ocean City. Grab 113/50 to rt 13 s & go down the eastern shore of VA to VA Beach (Lot of little side trips there). Go thru VA Beach to the Outter Banks & then head over to your destination. When you head North, go get on the Blue Ridge Parkway & head north or you can get off that & run I-81 up to PA & then take some side roads from there............You have a LOT of options..........Good Luck & have fun!!!!!!!!

I know the road to Camden well. At a minimum - get onto US 17 near Frederickburg VA. 17 will take u thru nice rolling country into Yorktown VA -- fantastic battlefield to visit. Then follow US 17 into NC - you'll love it. DOOF

I live in Camden county and frequently take trips to PA, and I have taken both routes mentioned. I personally love the eastern shore the most, because there is very little traffic until you get around Philly then it's pretty much interstate to get around the big city. The 17 choice is nice as well, as long as you are north of Williamsburg VA, or South of the James River Bridge. I don't know how much time you have but I'd recommend taking one way in and the other way out. Which ever you choose will be enjoyable. Ride safe and enjoy our small Camden County.
