Nova Scotia Trip Update

Folks,

We are now a couple of days into our Nova Scotia trip, departing northern Wi Saturday morning. This morning, we are about 30 west of Montreal in the little French town Rigaud (pronounce 'Ree-goe').

Great trip thus far! A local Frenchman yesterday talked us into re-routing our trip to include a ride all the way up the southern side of the St. Lawrence Seaway to the Gulf of St. Lawrence and ride around the horn at the tip. The guy in one of the pics below (riding his '84 Softail) - Leon - talked me into taking the group up that way. We exchange email addreses because he wants me to message him after the trip to tell him how the re-route went.

This guy was a riot. Said his bike was like the Johnny Cash song, "One Piece as a Time"

My Girl

The night before the trip, I cut down the windshield on my brother-in-law's EG

Man that is way close to me; Rigaud is like 45 miles from my place!
Did he have you head up the 132 east to Sorel and take the ferry back across the St-Lawrence river or go all the way to the bridge at Trois-Riveres?

DR....we actually took 40 all the way to Quebec then crossed over on 73 to 20. 20 to 132.

I'll tell ya what, I've ridden many thousands of miles on this continent, and the 132 around the Gaspe' Peninsula is among the best riding I've done. Absolutely breathtaking views! Very cool. This morning, we find ourselves on the south side of the Peninsula in Paspebiac, QB. We will be heading down to Prince Edward Island (PEI) today, then finally on into Nova Scotia.

Here are a few pics from yesterday's ride

Nova Scotia

I grew up in Nova Scotia. All my family still live in Halifax & Dartmouth. Make sure you all stick to the coastal roads for the best scenery. If your in Lunenberg stop at the Knot Pub for a bowl of their mussel chowder.HD dealer in Halifax as well.Fortress Loiusberg on Cape Breton Island is a cool place to visit before going around the Cabot Trail. From North Sydney, Newfoundland is only a 8 hour ferry ride to the "Rock". Enjoy and have a safe journey.

Thanks Guys. John, thanks also for the tips. We're in Elgin, NB tonight and crossing the Confederation Bridge to PEI in the morning. Then its off to Sydney H-D and the Cabot Trail. We'll have Friday through Monday (and maybe Tuesday) for Nova Scotia before we need to start meandering westward. We now have about 2200 miles behind us and we're only a third of the way through the vacation..
