Fine example

I wanted to tell everyone a little about one of our forum members. He goes by "Grinder" here on the forum and his name is Tony Stone. After I had my wreck and had made it as far as Sylva, NC, I was in enough pain and had enough swelling here and there that we decided a trip to the emergency room was in order. We hadn't sought any treatment prior to that since I'm a paramedic and Donna is an RN and Family Nurse Practitioner, we felt we had it covered and knew I had no fife threatening issues. She is a good or better than any clinic or Doc-in-the-box we could have stopped at and Sylva was the closest hospital. Anyway I was being seen and Donna and my brother were in the waiting area. Tony and his other half were there for something else and heard them talking. They were discussing me, the fact it was getting late and that Donna still had to ride her bike, alone and at night 2 1/2 hours to my brothers in Charlotte. Tony introduced himself and they soon discovered they were both forum members. He generously offered to store Donna's bike overnight there in town and said we could call him anytime to pick it up. I was soon released with a good report. No internal bleeding and only a small fracture behind my left cheekbone. He repeated his offer to me and ultimately we accepted his offer. We followed him a short distance and locked her bike up for the night. That was a big load off my mind and Donnas. It had been a long rough day and she was in no shape to have to ride that far watching out for the Bambi's on the side of the road. He is another shining example of the quality of people on the forum and the spirit of helping and truly caring about others, even if you've only met. He stepped up and showed what kind of character he was made of. He could have easily said nothing as most people these days do. I'll never forget his kindness and generosity and I hope he knows just how much we both appreciate it. Tony, Thank You So Much My Friend.

That's great to hear you're okay. It's also outstanding that Tony stepped in to help you out.

First off glad to read you're ok...Here is another fine example of how good people can be and are...you always hear the crap stories but never the good...

Hey, Tony, thanks for being a good hearted person...we need more people like you in this world.

Did I fall asleep and miss something? Richard, I hadn't heard of your wreck, glad to hear you checked out OK. Did this happen during SW5 or on your way home? Geeze, you just completed a complete makeover of your bike, didn't you?

You missed a big something. I wrecked on the Cherohola and the way home this past Thursday. Wrecked going into a curve and struck an SUV head on. Bad Day!!! and yes I got it back on the 8th and left the 11th for SW.

I just found and read your post about the wreck. Man, that really sucks. Especially since Rachel had only been back home a few days. But all that means absolutely nothing as long as you came out the other end 'whole'. So glad to hear that you have no major injuries. Those bumps and bruises and road rash will hurt for a while, but considering you also put the Mazda crossover "on the trailer", I guess you have to consider yourself very fortunate. I know you'll use the down time to design her replacement, can't wait to see what you do with the next one! Take care.
