I will post some other pix of Roadies tomorrow or Thursday.
It appears the economy was a factor this weekend....best weather in a while, but serious signs of economic erosion present....
+ Beach Street Dealership no longer has a showroom, only a clothing store and a "Bruce Rossmeyer Museum"
+ Destination Daytona had maybe 100-125 bikes in inventory, opposed to the 300-400 they normally have in stock during Biketeoberfest or Bike Week
+Many nice hotels with vacancy signs
+Many bars with $2.00 beers, fewer of the beer tub girls out (damn!!!)
+ The normal wear out your brakes and clutch ride from SR 40 to Destination Daytona, which could take up to an hour in normal times, was a fifty MPH ride, save for a short jam around Iron Horse....not too bad of a ride at all
+ The installers for lights, wheels, exhaust, suspension, et al, appeared not to be as busy. Last year, it seemed like every lift at every vendor ws busy. This year, there were lots of empty lifts and lots of techs talking to each other.
Well, about that Hope and Change bullshit.....ummmmm, yeah
