Day Trip to Madison/KY

The wife and I are headed from Indy to Madison tomorrow. Going to run across the river for cheap tobacco and get some Hinkle burgers.

Another great place to have great hamburgers in Madison is Shipleys, it's a little hole in the wall bar there.
They are fantastic.
Once you get your cigarettes ride along the river on the Kentucky side and go down to Markle Dam cross over the dam and come back on the Indiana side.
Nice roads and some great curves and twisty and nice views of the river.
Enjoy the ride.

Plan on taking that route sometime @boomerman , and checking out Rabbit Hash. Found out the hard way Hinkle's was closed. Dropped into a little sports bar, had a decent ribeye sandwich and the wife had a beef quesadilla. They were decent. Weather felt more like September than July, it was damn near perfect for riding, except for the detour, that lead to another detour that finally made us say $%#^ it and take the interstate the last 70 miles or so home.

Like that area, and Rabbit Hash is interesting. The history of the area, including Madison, is pretty cool.

+1 on Shipleys!
Along the River is one of our favorite rides in the area... Also check out The Sunset Grill, just up from Markland Dam on Hwy 42, across from Smuggler's Cove Marina, a sweet spot on the river with great grub!!
