August trip - Tampa to Nashville to New Orleans suggestions

Planning a trip from Tampa to Nashville and possibly thinking about looping around to New Orleans in my return trip home to Tampa.

Looking for suggestions on POIs that anyone feels is a must see near or on the way to these locations.

Any suggestions are appreciated!

Take the Natchez Trace from Nashville to Tupelo . There you can visit Elvis's birthplace. Out of Tupelo take Highway 278 / Highway 6 west through Oxford to Clarksdale. Visit the CrossRoads and Ground Zero blues club. From Clarksdale take Hwy 61 south to Vicksburg and visit the national Battlefield. From Vicksburg take Fishers Ferry Road south east to Old Port Gibson Rd / Hwy 462 for a great ride back to Hwy 61 just north of Port Gibson. Follow 61 south to Natchez. Great town with several Blues Joints and 600 homes on the National Historic register . Once you leave Natchez continue on Hwy 61 to Baton Rouge then take I-10 into New Orleans. Enjoy your trip.

Jack Daniels Distillery tours is a nice stop by for your way up to Nashville or way to N'orleans. It's a few miles off the beaten path but well worth the trip.

It is difficult to head north from Tampa on an interesting route, until you get north of Atlanta. I have done it, a lot. My suggestion is taking 27 to Tallassee , 319 to Tifton, GA, then blast up 75 to north of Atlanta, and make your way north east to the Helen/Hiawassee, GA area, then over into western NC, then head west through the Cumberland Plateau area in TN to Nashville, avoiding interstates. Taking the Trace from Nashville to NOLA is great if you are not pressed for time. PM me and I will send specific routes through NC and TN.

This is somewhat the route I took when returning home from Tampa one year.

More enjoyable roads, but many still have 65 mph speed limits.

A stop at Barbers Motorsports Museum is a must and plan to spend several hours looking at all the cool bikes on display.

Jack Daniels is a cool tour and a place for some photo ops.

Now, I went up 19 because i wanted to stop in at a few places along the way and see Manatees and Mermaids. If you want to bypass that, you could run up i-75 and pick up the back roads going through Monticello.

It really depends on what you find interesting for me to make suggestions. There is a lot of history and historic places to stop at. There is Mount Cheaha which is the highest point in Alabama and has some overlooks in the state park at the summit.

Mount Cheaha State Park https://www.alapark.com/cheaha-state-park
Tuskegee Airmen National Historic Site https://www.nps.gov/tuai/index.htm

You could venture over to Warm Springs, GA and visit the F. D. Roosevelt "little whitehouse" and historic area. There was a cool motorcycle related museum when I passed through there. https://www.google.com/destination?q...MjAxOS0wNC0xMw

You could take your boots off and go for a cooling walk in the streams of Providence Canyon State Outdoor Recreation Area. https://gastateparks.org/ProvidenceCanyon

If micro breweries and distilleries are your thing, you could google search locations and visit and sample.

You could spend days getting to Nashville. LOL!

I definitely recommend the leisurely ride down the Natchez Trace the entire length before heading towards New Orleans.
If you prefer your souvenirs to come from Harley Shops, there is a Natchez Trace HD about 10 miles off the Trace in Alabama. There is also a Cheaha Mountain HD, and you can find more by doing a search.
Here is my ride down the Natchez. https://www.roadglide.org/10-road-tr...d-chicken.html

Now depending on your route back east, if you find yourself passing through Lake Charles, LA, I recommend Steamboat Bill's https://www.steamboatbills.com/ The Crawfish Étouffée, Shrimp & Crab Gumbo, Crawfish Pistolette, and Boudin Ball to get you started. Then order a meal. LOL! I had so much food I had to get a hotel nearby!

The Pensacola, FL Navel Air Museum is nice if you are into aviation and history. You can climb a light house nearby and take in the views. https://www.navalaviationmuseum.org/ Pensacola Lighthouse and Museum

I could post up hundreds of photos, but you make your own memories and post up photos.

Came across this photo and got my appetite going. LOL!

This is what I brought back to the room with me because I ordered too much to eat in one setting.
