Road trip

I'd like to hear about your best, and or road trip! I don't want to hear about getting maimed or anything like that. My best was back in 03'. My dad and I left Oregon in mid August and was to be in Hartford Connecticut on Labor Day. We went through the panhandle of Idaho and entered Canada, rained the whole way which is good considering it was August. Made our way across Canada on hwy.1 through Regina(rain), Medicine Hat(Rain), Thunderbay(rain). We turned south at Toronto(rain) into up state New York(sun & humidity) then east through Vermont, New Hampshire, & Maine. South from Maine (got lost in Portland) to Massachusetts(pulled over by highway patrol, forgot to put helmets back on) to Connecticut. We spent 4 days there seeing the sights(battery gave up, ignition water logged and worked intermittantly) & visiting family. Left on Sunday, the day before Labor Day, and hightailed it home on 80(sunny & hot). I was on my 00' Road King and my dad was riding a 03' Road Glide. It was his first trip after recovering from a bad accident and my first time to the east coast. We split up in Laramie and he headed south to Colorado to meet up with some friends while I rode the rest of the way by myself. We covered 7,400 miles in 2 1/2 weeks and I loved every one of them. Memories a lot of fathers and son's will never have. So, lets hear them!

Me and a buddy left Norfolk Va in August 1978 on two fairly new FLHs headed for San Diego , we missed a turn somewhere near Omaha and ended up in Anchorage Alaska

Road Trip

Ugly Shawn

well does getting ready for a memorable trip count. Counting down the days to July 27th. Leaving central Florida and riding to Sturgis with my oldest son for a 2 week trip. Only thing that could make this better is if my youngest son can get off of work to join us. Can't wait, hope the trip is as memorable and as successful as you and your dads was.

Wife and I rode from SW Florida to San Antonio, Tx. Stayed over 3 nights in Biloxi, then stayed over 3 nights in New Orleans, stopped a night in Beaumont, TX to do laundry then met some friends in San Antonio where we stayed for another 3 nights. On the ride back returned through Biloxi for some more gambling. Great trip except the weather was hot and we rode the roads along the gulf, so a lot of stop and go in places which made it hotter sitting on a 300 degree engine. The only rain was when we landed in Beaumont. Just put the luggage in the room and the skies let loose. Poor bike got drenched. Called Dominos for pizza delivery and found that they were in front of the hotel. Lots more to tell... About 3500 miles total.
Heading to Massachusetts and then to Milwaukee (110th anniv.) and back to Florida in August/Sept.

I can't think of any one best road trip. Each one was awesome in it's own right. First x- country ride at 18 - northern Indiana to Mexico to grand canyon to Sturgis and back home on a 2 cylinder 2 stroke RD 400. And each one since just seems to get better than the last.

2019 Wicked Cherry RGU. And an even bigger smile than before.
