There is tons of great riding in the area. The riding in NM south of Durango is not as scenic as staying in CO. My favorite ride goes from Durango west on 160 and just before Cortez you can pick up 145 and go north which will eventually take you to Placerville where you pick up 62 and go east to Ridgeway where you pick up 550 and head south back to Durango. This is a great all day ride and you can do it twice just taking the route in the opposite direction because the scenery is kickass both ways. That route takes you thru some great little towns and just about everyone has a microbrewery in it so if you like microbeer your in a great area. There are 3 microbreweries in Durango there is 1 in Cortez, Dolores, Telluride, Ouray and 2 in Silverton. Silverton also has a HD t-shirt shop but the shirts are pricey and Durango has a HD dealer but t-shirts are pricey there to. The Steamworks microbrewery has a great cajun boil if you have a taste for that some night. That should keep you busy for a few days.
