HD upgraded the engine compensator so you may not find that compensator, the upgraded HD compensator will work on your bike. I would suggest paying the extra money and getting a Baker compensator instead of the HD compensator.

Engine compensator

Thank You, Sir. I would love to install the Baker unit, not compatible with the Procharger pulley.

Ran that run coming out of Kentucky on a Sunday had no issues till the Florida line. Went thru Atlanta around 11 in the morning if that helps.

@ironmark , when did they upgrade the compensator? What is the difference? Reason I ask is, I have a 12 CVO RG and just got back from Cororado and NM, when the bike got hot it sounded like a can of marbles in the primary at idle and sometimes when taking off when letting the clutch out. I pulled the cover off and nothing looks out of place, nor any excessive wear. I still 1 year left on extended warranty, but feel it may be a waste of time to take it in, fearing they will say they cant duplicate any noise.

2012 CVO Roadglide Custom in Candy Cobalt/Twilight Blue, and it is almost completely stock. :0)))))
Mods are: Fullsac 1-3/4" baffles, Ohlins 6's (HD357), color matched chopped tour pack. Bluetooth stereo with Arc Audio amp and Focal speakers. On the bucket list; Ohlins drop in fork cartridges and the install of Fuel Moto catless 212 SS headpipe

Compensator

They changed the ramps on the sprocket in those years, however I found the problem to be the auto adjuster having the primary chain to tight putting more stress on the chain, which in turn keeps constant pressure on the compensator. So I went with M-6, made a small adjustment to springs to let the chain relax , put another comp sprocket , went with Royal Purple primary lube, several hundred miles so far so good. Hope this helps.

All you need to do to fix your compensator is get a hold of one of the middle size bellevue washers from another compensator spring pak. Most Harley dealerships and indy's have them from change outs. Put it in against the other middle sized one the same direction. Put everything back together and you will have fixed your problem. The spring paks in all these new compensators are a little too weak and allow the cam to rotate all the way to the tip. The addition I speak of stops that from happening and it stops short of the tip of the cam. No more noise and works and should last forever. Good luck.

I believe the SE comp was OEM equipment in 2011, your 2012 has the first version of the SE comp in it and even though it was a much better comp the the original comp installed in the earlier 96/103 engine the SE comp will still fail over time. The main reason the SE comp fails is the lack of oiling grooves that would properly lubricate the comp.

Thanks for the reply. Would anyone know if this is a warrantable defect? Thought I'd ask before I get the run around from the dealer.
