i do have a set of extras. but i must warn you, i'm not sure that he is going to be able to just plug the speedo in and roll. i have heard that when replacing the speedo with a used one, you get a 'vinerr' message in the odometer window.
i do know that when i replaced my speedo with the new one (cvo style), it did a countdown from 33. once it hit zero, it was then 'locked' to my bike.
but if he is interested in trying, i'd do a decent price for both. if all else fails, at least the tach will work. speedo was replaced with 12000 miles on it, or somewhere thereabouts
I understand the concept of reality, but find it too confining for a way of life.
