Touring Seat

Looking for a better seat than the stock seat. Would love a CVO seat if there’s one out there. Let me know what you have.. Thanks!

Be careful, when you mention "Touring" they are usually concidered the big and bulky with a wide rear seating area.

2010 FLTRX , Stage 1, 13" Madstad, Mono tubes, SuperShox, Heritage style bars. Alpine CDE-HD149BT,Soundstream Picasso Nano Series PN4.520 , 5X7 and 6.5 Infinity Kappa speakers
If I have to explain ,you wouldn't under stand anyway.

I have the Hammock (big and bulky) But super comfy.

I also have the Parts and accessories CVO style seat and p pad.

Where the Hammock wins is its width. Spreads the load a bit better.

I've done most all of my long distance riding on the Hammock. This year I used the solo seat with the Airhawk D air pad. 3500 miles 8 days. And it was almost as good as the Hammock. But looked a shitload better. I'll he using it on my 8 day New England trip this year. For around town I'm good for an easy 100 miles without the pad. I do stop every 100 or so on my trips to fight fatigue. The wife has an airhawk for the back but only used it once. She's pretty good up to about 60-75 miles. (She has arthritis and a fusion in her neck) so it's not all about her ass. I was going to get the backrest to go with the Hammock and get a matching pad for my new chopped tourpak but I bought the CVO backrest and a pad to match that for the tourpak. I'm likely selling the Hammock to my buddy with an Ultra.

Takes some fidgeting. I know when the wife did use hers we were out all day 300 miles. Made a huge difference for her. I adjusted mine a few times on the trip. But like any seat. No one can say how it will feel for anyone else. I had a Saddleman solo and it was the worst fucking seat ever. The Dominator solo. We got 30 miles and the wife was telling me she was done. Yet a guy on HD forums was legitimately pissed I gave it a bad review because he thought it was the best seat ever. Lol. That seat sits you up and forward from stock and it's like a rock. Even after 5000 miles.

Did the Hammock change your riding position? I am 5'8" and lowered my 2019 RG 1" to make me more flat footed. My girl needs a more comfortable seat before Daytona but I do not need a seat that will eliminate what I gained by lowering my bike.

Thanks in advance.

I’m not loving the stock seat on my FLTRU - too mushy. Trying out one that came off a Special. It is better but I think I’m leaning toward a Corbin. Only thing holding me back is the price.

I have a Mustang one-piece ultra. Retails for $500, i'll let it go for $200 plus shipping if you're interested.

Not every seat will need an AirHawk but if you go with something like the CVO solo seat you may want it. The AirHawk just needs some adjusting to get it to where it feels great. A lot of people put way too much air in it and then yes, it's not that great. When I used mine I only had to put a puff or two of air in it and it was perfect. Sometimes less is more kinda thing. In fact when you would pick mine up off the seat it would feel like it was flat but when you would sit on it the small amount of air would spread out to all the right places.

Anyway, the whole seat thing is subjective and you will just have to demo as many as you can to get an idea. Some people like it soft and like the Hammock seat. Other people like it hard and love the Corbin seat. I have been a Corbin fan for years and when I ride my buds bike with the Hammock I like the feel of it at first but after about 30mins my a$$ gets to hurting and I want back on my Corbin. Don't rule out the firmer seats, you may be one of those that prefer it that way. Plush isn't always better.
