The HK radios have been unexpectedly crapping out since they were introduced in 2006. Unfortunately, the dealer mantra "they all do that" applies here. They should make "install new radio" part of the regular maintenance schedule.

So the two year warranty doesn't cover the HK radio?!?!

If you cntinue to experience this problem and you're still in your 2 year factory warranty period, take it back to your friendly, neighborhood Harley dealer and see what they say.
If they don't provide satisfaction, try Iron Cross Audio.
They'll straighten it out for you.
Good luck!
